“We have the technical expertise and accreditation to assess the performance of construction products”
TECNALIA provides support throughout the CE marking process, helping to drive innovation in the construction sector
TECNALIA has issued European Technical Assessment ETA 25/0634, for Aludecor Firewall A2 and Aludecor Firewall B panels, two advanced solutions within the thin metal composite sheet (TMCS) range of panels.
This assessment was carried out in accordance with EAD 210046-00-1201 and demonstrates the reliability, safety and quality of construction products designed to meet the highest standards for building envelopes and architectural components.
As a member of the European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA), TECNALIA has the technical expertise and accreditation required to assess the performance of innovative construction products, ensuring that they are suitable for CE marking.
The ETA provides the manufacturer with essential information about the product's key characteristics and the details required for correctly applying the Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP) system.
Technical evaluations of innovative building products
The new Aludecor panels evaluated by TECNALIA are made up of two metallic layers of aluminium alloy bonded by means of an adhesive to a mineral-filled polymer core. The composition of the core, which contains a high percentage of mineral fillers, differs between the two models, being 90% or more in the case of the Aludecor Firewall A2 panel.
Both products are manufactured using a continuous automated process at Aludecor's plants in Haridwar (India) and are available in various combinations of thicknesses and dimensions.
Reaction to fire and mechanical strength tests
The following are among the characteristics assessed at TECNALIA’s laboratories for the ETA:
- Reaction to fire: the reaction to fire performance of the products was analysed.
- Mechanical strength: properties such as tensile strength perpendicular to faces, bending behaviour in three- and four-point test configurations and resistance to peeling under torsion were analysed in accordance with the EAD.
The ETA also sets out guidelines for installation, maintenance and use, and specific requirements for its application in façade elements, partitions, ceilings, infill panels, and navigation and information systems.
As Notified Body No. 1292 for EVCP tasks linked to European Technical Assessments, TECNALIA carries out production control verification in Haridwar (India), ensuring that production conditions are maintained and granting CE marking for products assessed under the ETA.
TECNALIA brings extensive technical and regulatory expertise to European Technical Assessments
