The expert in advanced manufacturing master's degree has a new space for additive technology

6 March 2019

The new space for additive manufacturing at IMH is a state-of-the-art workshop devoted to additive manufacturing and 3D printing

The state-of-the-art IMH workshop, which will house the additive manufacturing and 3D printing industrial innovative technologies, aims to train students and technicians in this emerging technology within Industry 4.0. It also contributes to the application and industrialisation of the advantages offered by 3D printing in production processes.

Cutting-edge technologies in additive manufacturing

In September, the second edition of the Expert in Additive Manufacturing Master's Degree will commence. TECNALIA participates actively in its design and training. Students will be able to enjoy the complementation of the new facilities at IMH, for research, development and demonstration. In this way, students will have access to the most cutting edge technologies in additive manufacturing. SLM, LMD / cladding, WAAM and binder jetting for the manufacture of functional components in diverse metals; and multi-jet fusion technologies and large format FMD for plastic materials and polymers by the UPV/EHU and TECNALIA.

IMH and AFM, along with the Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Cluster, have worked decisively with the Basque Government, Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, Elgoibar Town Hall, as well as with diverse companies from the additive world on this strategic initiative for Basque industry: it will come into operation this March.
