The TECNALIA data and protocols laboratory accredited by UCA as level “A" certification laboratory for server equipment as per IEC 61850

15 March 2018

In accordance with the procedures for Ed. 2 Server equipment

UCA has approved TECNALIA as an ACCREDITED LABORATORY for the verification of the IEC 61850 protocol in Ed. 2 Server equipment, in accordance with the criteria set out by the UCA International Users Group for level A laboratories.

We are therefore one of four European laboratories capable of carrying out this type of certification.

At TECNALIA, we offer certification services to manufacturers requiring a reliable and independent third-party laboratory. Accreditation for IEC 61850 complements the recognition achieved by our Data and Protocols Laboratory through other associations, such as PRIME or DLMS, in the field of communication protocols and data storage protocols.

Likewise, accreditation for the IEC 61850 complements the existing ENAC (ILAC) testing accreditations for electrical grid equipment at our Electrical Equipment and Electronic Equipment laboratories and the recognition of numerous electrical companies in Europe, South America and the Middle East for the certification of this type of products.

Our commitment to the services provided by the Data and Protocols Laboratory is not limited to product certification. On one hand, we design and develop testing tools that enable products to be improved during their development and their compliance with interoperability standards to be evaluated in the certification process. On the other hand, we advise manufacturers and electrical companies on the specification, testing and laboratory design to ensure the reliability of the equipment.

At TECNALIA Lab_services, we encompass all of the company's laboratories, aimed at the electrical, industrial, pharmaceutical and digital sectors. We are aware of the importance of ensuring the reliability and security of the equipment and systems, so we accompany companies to accelerate the launch of their products and reduce their time-to-market.

UCA International Users Group

UCA International Users Group is a non-profit corporation that helps users and suppliers in the deployment of standards for real time applications for various industries with related requirements. The Users Group does not draw up standards. However, it does work closely with those organisations that are responsible for completing the standards (in particular IEC TC 57: Power systems management and associated information exchange).
