      Problems solved by TTANK

New sustainable mobility based on H2, in the case of vehicle-mounted storage tanks, requires lightweight, highly structural, watertight and safe tanks, such as those that are starting to be manufactured. However, for their foreseeable mass use in the future, it is also necessary to develop more economical, sustainable tanks using competitive and flexible processes that enable them to be manufactured for different segments (cars, buses, trucks, etc.).

      Advantages of TTANK:

      • Low cost of liquid polyamide 6 raw materials.
      • Excellent H2 barrier properties of liquid polyamide 6.
      • Ease of recycling due to the use of thermoplastic materials (PA6) for both the liner and the reinforcement. Possibility of using organic raw materials.
      • Flexibility of rotomoulding and injection moulding (T-RTM) processes to competitively produce different dimensions and manufacturing volumes.

      Market potential

      • The H2 storage tank market is expanding rapidly and annual growth of 35% until 2030 is foreseen.
      • The largest market is expected to be for Type IV tanks due to the need for lightweighting in the case of embarked tanks.
