At TECNALIA we are going to boost Quantum and quantum computing in a cross-cutting way to generate impact in the companies around us.

Within the new quantum ecosystem being promoted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, TECNALIA is a preferential partner accompanying companies to face the transformations to come.

Companies such as IBM, Telefónica, Accenture as well as the Bilbao City Council, Gaia, Silicon Europe, the UPV/EHU, the University of Deusto and Mondragon Unibertsitatea are also part of this strategy.

Dr Esther Villar-Rodriguez, head of Artificial Intelligence at TECNALIA, at the round table moderated by Gaia, advanced that "from TECNALIA we are going to take Quantum and quantum computing in a transversal way to generate impact in the companies around us".

The Basque Deputy for Economic Promotion, Ainara Basurko , pointed out that 'We are facing a unique opportunity to position Bizkaia at the forefront of the socio-economic advances that second generation quantum technologies will make possible'.

Applied quantum research

TECNALIA is actively working in applied quantum research in fields such as the Elkartek initiative or QUANTEK as well as in quantum software engineering (quality of quantum software, V&V of quantum software); quantum optimisation and simulation (machine learning & IA, quantum optimisation) or quantum security and communications (quantum cryptography).
