The new artificial intelligence technologies and automated systems are a new field in cybersecurity and privacy.

UNE, the Spanish Association for Standardisation, has published a report on Cybersecurity for vehicles, together with TECNALIA and other organisations. This study aims to get ahead of the planned development in cooperative intelligent transport systems and breakthroughs in vehicle connectivity with the surroundings.

It was also created to prepare the technical standards that, on the one hand, enable the necessary interoperability of all the elements of these huge transport systems and, on the other hand, standardise the necessary security and privacy requirements to provide sufficient guarantees to these particularly critical systems.

The report identifies technical standardisation bodies, standards and most relevant initiatives related to Cybersecurity and Privacy in the general field of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) and Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs), Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and the communication and connectivity technologies involved.

The need for new technical standards in the Connected and Automated Mobility industry is highlighted in order to address the risks of cybersecurity and privacy as a result of technological breakthroughs in this field.

It serves as the base for the development of future initiatives in the field of standardisation in cybersecurity and privacy of smart mobility and connected vehicles, bringing together and forming consensus with the efforts of the sector’s leading experts and companies.
