This laboratory offers tests for the certification of smart meters and data concentrators that are part of the electricity distribution grid. The laboratory is also rented out to manufacturers who require a third party to verify their developments.
We carry out assessments of the essential requirements set out in the MID and EMC Directives, certification of communications and data protocols and assessment of the functionality of the electricity distribution grid equipment and evaluation of interoperability, performance and cybersecurity. The laboratory conducts tests to ensure product cybersecurity and interoperability between manufacturers, facilitating the process of commissioning equipment in the field.
The requirements of the MID and EMC Directives are assessed using the facilities of the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) laboratory, environmental testing laboratory, electrical safety laboratory and specific measurement assessment instruments.
Customised testing tools have been developed for the certification of communications, cibersecurity and data protocols and the functional evaluation of the equipment. They are offered to manufacturers to accelerate product development.
This laboratory is recognised as a Notified Body with respect to the Measurement Instrumentation Directive (MID), the EMC Directive, the PRIME Alliance official laboratory, the DLMS UA third party laboratory and the official laboratory of international electrical companies.
