“We are pushing for alignment between scientific research and the real needs of the industrial sector”
TECNALIA held the first meeting of the Industrial Advisory Committee, a key body that ensures that scientific research is in line with the real needs of industry
The meeting, which took place at the TECNALIA technology centre, saw the presentation of the main lines of research that will guide the development of the project in the coming months. These include:
- The development of barrier coatings on metals to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.
- Research on barrier coatings for metals and composites to reduce hydrogen permeation and leakage.
- Sustainable composite material alternatives for storing hydrogen in tanks, their applicability in innovative manufacturing processes and their recycling process.
- Predictive computational models and representative mechanical characterisation techniques for a better understanding of how hydrogen interacts with and in bonding between metals.
Transfer of knowledge and technology to the market
The meeting also helped lay the foundations for collaboration between the various stakeholders involved, encouraging an open, multidisciplinary approach to speed up the transfer of knowledge and technology to the market.
The Industrial Advisory Committee is made up of representatives from leading companies in the sector (Tubos Reunidos Group, Ulma Advanced Solutions, Tamoin, Mugape, Innomat Coatings, Barquin y Ochoa, Grupo Revenenat, and TECNALIA), along with technological experts who will provide their strategic vision to maximise the impact of the project on the industrial ecosystem.
