“Jesus Herrero and Óscar Lage highlight the value of data through Brokel: Platform for the safe sharing and exploitation of sensitive data”

The cluster of tourism technology centres has produced an ebook on cybersecurity in the tourism sector

The Tourism Technological Platform – THINKTUR has presented this ebook at the latest edition of FITUR, in which initiatives and projects in the field of cybersecurity are shared (download online). In the case of TECNALIA, Jesus Herrero and Oscar Lage highlight the value of data through “Brokel: Platform for the safe sharing and exploitation of sensitive data”.

TECNALIA has collaborated with different entities in the presentation of technological proposals aimed at the strengthening and competitiveness of one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. It has also worked with Segittur and the ITH on the technological forums devoted to innovation, technology and sustainability in the tourism sector, presented at FITUR.

It has also participated in the first workshop of the Spanish Gaia-X hub for the creation of the tourism data space, data-based innovation and artificial intelligence.

Sustainability and the environment in the tourism sector

Another alarming issue in this sector is sustainability and the environment. At the FITUR Techy forum, Asier Maiztegi, sustainability expert at TECNALIA, presented the implications for the tourism sector of the challenge of decarbonisation; different opportunities around digitisation and innovation that are being worked on from different angles. At the same time, proposals and projects are being developed, supported by the European Next Generation funds.

This recovery plan along with the digital transformation and the design of tracking projects will drive the recovery of the tourism industry.
